Room 2 has been using a range of techniques to make our flowers look like 3D. Some of these techniques are: using curled or arched shapes instead of straight lines and using shading to make it look darker or lighter in different areas. We have also been using the shading to contrast different colours. The techniques are trying to get a 3D affect to make it jump out of the paper.
These flowers are poisonous to humans. We choose poisonous flowers as they were based on the topic the bigger, better, faster, stronger (also the world of medicine). As well as being are topic for art. This person is onto colouring and shading the flower.
Tyler is trying to create the effect from the flower as it has the centre effect which is quite hard as you have to make it look as real as you possibly can.
You have to try and get the right curves and sharp edges which we as a class have found quite interesting to master this technique. Some people have found this art very fun some have found it quite tricky.

Wonderings Wall
Hi everyone, we have been looking at the wonderful world of medicine. Our inquiry for this term will look at a range of all things medicine. Some of us are looking at bones, amputation, antibiotics and much much more. We are so interested in learning about different ranges of medicine that we wrote all our wondering / ideas / questions onto sticky notes.
As you can see we had lots of questions that we can't wait to find out about. Parents can you please help us in our inquiry as we will be researching our topic that we have picked. By: Tegan and Abby.JPG)

Study Tips and Generally good information
Drink 6-8 glasses of water a day
Seventy percent of the planet is covered with water. Approximately 70% of your body is made up of water. over 80% of your brain is water. A lack of water can lead to dehydration which causes headaches, lack of concentration and focus, tiredness and many other challenges. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day is also important for heath and success. Keep a water bottle beside you when studying and take water into the exam with you (if allowed).
I have been receiving some great study tips via a friend. This one is a good one. Miss J.

Anzac Day Writing & Failed Experiment
Today we wrote an introduction for our information reports on ANZAC day.
For the people that doesn't know what ANZAC means, it stands for Australian and
New Zealand Army Corps.
Firstly, we did a table on the ideas we wanted to base our paragraphs on,
how much we knew about that idea and some research questions on that idea.
Secondly, we found out more about it and answered the questions that
we wrote on the table. Now we were ready to write our introduction.
This we did today.

The SPCA came and talked to us on Wednesday. They talked about how we could help them out and help the animals. Here are some handy hints: You can make rag fairies. These are pieces of flanellete sheets, pure/heavy cotton sheets or pillow cases cut into 40cm x 40cm squares. They also need lots of newspaper, towels, and food for all animals, not just cats and dogs. Did you know they care for horses, sheep, cows any farm animal as well as domestic?
We can also make tug toys. These are long strips of fabric plaited together with knots in them. The longer they are, the better.
The Failed Experiment
We heard from Miss J that if you crush WeetBix or Nutrigrain into powder, you could find particles of iron. So we crushed lots of Weetbix and Nurtigrain and used magnetics to extract the iron. Unfortunately there was not enough iron to be seen, and also we think our magnetics were not strong enough. It was fun though.
