We thought that we would tell you about our reading for the week.We have been learning about NZ. Did you know Captain Cook made 3 voyages around the world. Also Able Tasman was the first person to see NZ. We have been using atlases to find places in NZ named after Able Tasman and Captain Cook. It has been fun to find out so many facts.
Our Art has been ongoing for the last 2 / 3 weeks. Some of us have finished and they look stunning. Some of us are three quarters of the way there. They are hard work but they are worth the effort. Enjoy the photos.

Cinquain Poems and Pod Casts
Pod Casts are fun. They are recordings of your voice made on the programme Garage Band using the Apple computers. We had a photo of our holiday and we had to record our holiday story and import them into itunes. This was the best time, as it is lots of fun. These are saved on our USB sticks, please ask us to play them for you.
Hello! Room 2 have been doing some cinquain poems lately.
These little poems consist of 4 lines. The first line is the title, which is 1 word, the second line describes the topic in 2 words, the third line expresses an action that the topic can do using 3 words, and the final line is a synonym of the title. Writing these was fun. We got to choose our own topic. These are the cinquain poems Bill and Nathan wrote.

The Human Knot
In Room two we are building our teamwork and trust. We played a game called The human knot. We were in groups of 8 and stood in a circle. We put our hands in the middle and held on to another persons hand. The other rule was you could not hold on to the hands of the people next to you. Then we had to try to unknot ourselves by steping over and under peoples arms. It was rather complicated but we managed it in the end. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. Enjoy the photos.
